Hi, my name is Skylar Sorenson. I'm from Mellette, South Dakota and graduated in a class of 21. I went to Lake Area Technical Institute for Automotive Technology to become a mechanic because that's what I thought I wanted to do. I worked for a dealership for almost 3 years and realized my hobby has become something I hated. So I started delivering mail. I did that for three years. Then my wife and I moved to Hoven, South Dakota to start our family and begin our small town lives again. I was the shop foreman for the Hoven Coop for 2 years but was overworked and underpaid. That's when I found Family Heritage and decided that talking to people is way easier than doing truck tires for a living.
When I’m not working you can find me shooting my bow, playing video games, fishing on shore or on a boat, working on my own vehicles, spending time with my family, watching my Miami Dolphins.
I chose a career here for the fact that I can provide my family with generational wealth. That is something that my family has never had. I also get to be my own boss and spend more time with my family after I've had a rewarding day. The culture here is great. Everyone here wants to help each other succeed.
